Wildfire is a 2021 film about two sisters, Lauren and Kelly who grew up on the Irish border. Kelly, played by actress Nika McGuigan, returns after having gone missing. Together they uncover the truth about their deceased mother amid town rumors and lingering trauma of The Troubles. Irish actress Nora-Jane Noone stars as Lauren , who tries to maintain a sense of normality that gets slowly chipped away after the return of her sister. Nora-Jane Noone appeared in a 2020 interview with Bonnie Laufer where she discusses her character. "There's moments for all of us in life where you're dealing with so much that you just go tunnel vision and practical and just get on with it you know and it's not till you have a moment to breathe that you get to deal with all of that. And that's Lauren. She's been knotted and tied up for years." In 2021 Noone was nominated for Best Actress for her outstanding performance in Wildfire at the Irish Film and Television Awards.
